Leadership Team
Leigh Howard
CEO, Asialink Business
Leigh Howard has over two decades of experience representing Australian businesses in Asia, across corporate, government, start-up, and for-purpose sectors. As the CEO of Asialink Business, Leigh is focused on delivering services that empower Australian organisations and their people to seize the opportunities available in Asian markets.
Leigh was previously Deputy Commissioner to Southeast Asia for the State Government of Victoria, where he led a network of Trade & Investment offices assisting exporters and investors to access opportunities across the region. Leigh was a board member and Executive Director for TradingPost.com.au, one of Australia’s biggest online classified portals, as well as the Director, South Asia for Talent2 International Ltd, one of Australia’s largest staffing companies.
Leigh is a Foundation Board Director of AustCham ASEAN, the peak body for all officially registered Australian chambers and business councils in Southeast Asia. He is also a long-standing board member and former Chairperson of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC).
Robert Law
Director, Research & Advisory
Robert is passionate about helping businesses unlock Asia growth opportunities and has extensive experience leading development of market entry strategies for key markets such as India, Japan and Indonesia. He has advised businesses in a range sectors, including consumer products, food and beverage, agribusiness, technology and education.
He is a trusted advisor to the government on policies and programs to support companies grow in Asia, working seamlessly at the intersection of government and business.
Robert is an experienced public speaker and facilitator for webinars and conferences.
His most recent experience prior to Asialink Business was as a strategy consultant at Monitor Deloitte where he led large project teams across a range of industries, with a focus on Go To Market strategy.
He built his experience at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Office of National Intelligence (ONI). He spent four years living and working in Jakarta with DFAT, helping Australian companies navigate the Indonesian market. He held several roles at ONI, including reporting to the Director-General on sensitive and complex projects to promote Australia’s interests overseas. Later, he managed multiple teams of analysts focused on Asia.
Catherine Mudford
Director, Capability Development
Catherine has built an exceptional reputation as one of the leading executives in the field of leadership development and executive education. Catherine helped build the Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI) in Singapore, which is an initiative of the Singaporean Government. After serving as a key member of the founding leadership team, Catherine transitioned into a role as an advisor to HCLI designing, developing and delivering major programs that built capability to lead in global-Asia, including their flagship Singapore Business Leaders Program.
Catherine was previously a senior executive with the HR firm Aon Hewitt which helped her build deep experience in the areas of human capital management, organizational design and effectiveness, and talent management. She has lived and worked in Asia for over 10 years, across several countries.
