Creative exchanges: Residencies, collaborations and partnerships
Asialink Arts has been central to Australia-Asia creative engagement, instigating collaborative and flexible partnerships since 1991.
About the program
For 30 years, from its inception in 1991, Asialink Arts supported residencies and provided professional development and promotional opportunities for Australian artists and arts workers throughout the Asian region.
Encompassing all art forms and practices, the program supported inbound arts residents to Australia and special creative projects.
In that time, Asialink Arts’ support for Australian and Asian artists extended to:
- professional development and promotional opportunites for over 850 Austalian artists
- international residences for over 820 Australian and Asian artists.
In 2020, Asialink Arts shifted its focus from residencies to partnerships, by catalysing and supporting creative and long lasting institution-to-institution and people-to-people collaborations and partnerships across Australia and Asia. In this work, Asialink Arts continues to emphasise reciprocity, mutual respect and cross-cultural collaboration.
