Public holidays in Japan

There are numerous public holidays in Japan, not all of which fall on the same date every year. The list below shows the holidays that are celebrated nationally. Doing some research on whether there are additional holidays in the region that you are planning to visit ahead of your trip can help to avoid travelling to Japan at a time when businesses are closed.

Bank Business hours: Bank hours are usually from 9am to 3pm on weekdays. Banks are closed on public holidays and at weekends.
