Roundtables

An exclusive national roundtable series which focuses on how Australian boards can engage with China in a strategic and risk-informed way.

Chinese cityscape

This exclusive national roundtable series will take place in, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Designed for directors and senior executives, the discussions will focus on how Australian boards can engage with China in a strategic and risk-informed way that aligns with Australia’s national interests.

China’s economy is evolving. After decades of rapid industrial growth, it is shifting towards advanced technology, domestic consumption and the green economy. While overall growth has moderated, significant structural changes continue to reshape global supply chains and competitive dynamics.

Australia’s economic and people-to-people ties with China remain important. For directors, the key question is not whether to engage or disengage, but how to make well-informed decisions that balance opportunity with risk.

Across the five-city series, participants will:

  • Strengthen China literacy and board-level capability

  • Address knowledge gaps relevant to risk oversight and strategy

  • Examine governance, geopolitical and regulatory considerations

  • Explore how boards can identify commercial opportunity while managing risk

This series aims to build practical China capability for informed, strategic decision-making in Australian boardrooms.

The roundtables are by invitation only.  For more information contact us as at asialinkbusiness-events@unimelb.edu.au
