Asialink Business 10th anniversary celebration

30 June 2023: It’s no small feat to be able to look back and commemorate a decade of exceptional influence and growth. Many people have contributed to realise Asialink Business’ unwavering vision and commitment to bolstering Australia's engagement with the vibrant economies of Asia.

In Parliament House in Canberra, we did just that - and convened to mark a significant milestone: the 10th Anniversary of Asialink Business, Australia’s National Centre for Asia Capability.

The event hosted those who had been a part of the journey, with the Hon. Tim Watts MP, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, has been with Asialink Business for many years – imparting inspiring reflections on the pivotal role of Asia capability in Australia's future.

The gathering was also honoured by the presence of The Hon. Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry and Science, ambassadors from various Asian countries, and an assembly of 50 VIP guests. Asialink Business CEO Leigh Howard, alongside Asialink Group CEO Martine Letts, reminisced about the past successes and outlined a vision fortified by a renewed government mandate, emphasising the organisation's critical role in fortifying Australia’s potential in Asia.

Here are some of the things that we’re celebrating:

- Progress: Asialink Business has been instrumental in aiding thousands of Australian organisations to capitalise on opportunities in Asia, reflecting on a decade of substantial progress and impact.
- A strategic vision for the future: With a refreshed government mandate, Asialink Business is poised to lead Australia in building capabilities and deepening relationships with Asian economies, showcasing a strategic vision for future engagements.
- Gratitude and collaboration to our partners, our clients and our staff: The celebration was also a platform to express gratitude towards the Department of Industry, Science, and Resources and the University of Melbourne, recognising the collective effort that makes Asialink Business a pivotal force in driving Australia’s engagement with Asia.

The echoes of the event's discussions and reflections resonate with a clear message: the journey ahead is bright and filled with potential. The event was not only a celebration of past achievements but also a clarion call to embrace the opportunities and forge even stronger ties with Asia.
