The Great Ocean Road China Host Program

The China Host program developed deep leadership capabilities in tourism businesses along Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road region. Participants were equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide Chinese travellers with a best-in-class tourism experience.

The program consisted of four full day modules tailored to the region’s specific needs. The modules covered tourism service/product customisation for the China market, China’s digital marketing and payment landscape, and selling to the travel trade in China. Each module also included a workshop with subject matter experts and provided practical business toolkits for the participants to plan and implement their China market strategies.

The program was supported by the Victorian State Government, coordinated through Warrnambool City Council and delivered by Asialink Business in partnership with the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) and other industry leading organisations.

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ)

Communities and small business are often turning to local councils for support and guidance on how to tap into overseas markets. In Queensland, we partnered with LGAQ to provide a comprehensive training program aimed at helping local councils to navigate the delicate cultural differences involved in fostering international business relationships.

As a national-first, this innovative program was delivered across all 77 local governments in Queensland. The program provided local councils with practical knowledge and insights on how they can support their community and businesses to engage with international delegations, stakeholders and tourists. With support provided by Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) Asialink Business was engaged to design and deliver a highly tailored series, addressing the specific needs of each region visited. The program provided deeply researched, practical, applied and relevant content for immediate capability building.

International Education

A leading New South Wales University engaged Asialink Business to design and deliver a series of cultural intelligence sessions to upskill staff liaising with international students from Asia. The session also aimed to enable staff to engage effectively with philanthropic and alumni groups in India and China, via a thorough understanding of cultural and business contexts.

Testimonial: Kaplan Business School

"The program provided great insight for our staff with an Indian background and brought awareness to some of the challenges that we faced. The program was incredibly practical, offering tailored techniques and solutions - and also encouraged positive discussions among the staff, which continues even now. The facilitator had a wealth of background and experience to the topic of the training, which was enormously helpful in integrating the learnings and creating an engaging session. This program has been a great success and we look forward to doing a second round of this training at one of our campuses."
