International Education Forum

20 October 2023: The International Education Forum is an ambitious initiative supported by the City of Sydney and Study NSW. Held at Sydney Lower Town Hall, this forum represents a hallmark event for the City of Sydney.

October 2023 saw the much-anticipated return of the International Education Forum, a signature event which, for the first time since 2019, resumed in Sydney. The half-day forum garnered 240 registrations and welcomed 145 attendees from across 120 organisations within the NSW international education sector and business community. The forum's agenda was centered on enhancing the international student experience and promoting their employability, with contributions from the Deputy Lord Mayor, Members of Parliament, and senior figures in education and business.

 

The highlights of the forum were:

- Diverse participation: An impressive turnout of nearly 200 representatives from the international education and business sectors highlighted the forum's significance in fostering collaboration.

- Insightful discussions: Speakers, including MPs and senior leaders, provided valuable insights and potential solutions to pressing issues in international education, particularly focusing on the student experience and employability.

- Community engagement: The active engagement and discussions underscored the forum's role as a vital platform for stakeholders to share knowledge and strategize on improving outcomes for international students.

The International Education Forum's successful execution underscored the collective commitment of the City of Sydney, Study NSW, Asialink Business, and all participants to the betterment of international education. The event was a conduit for sharing expertise and aimed at integrating international students more deeply into the fabric of NSW's academic and professional landscapes.
