Victoria’s engagement with Asia

25 August 2023: The State Government of Victoria has expanding ambitions in Asia – and the region is at the cornerstone of the state’s international relations and economic strategy.

Asialink Business partnered with Global Victoria to spotlight the state's dynamic interaction with Asia. Addressing an audience of 80 esteemed attendees, Mr. Tim Pallas MP, Treasurer of Victoria, reflected on the joint efforts of the Victorian Government and Asialink Business in equipping local businesses, government, and industry to capitalize on Asian market opportunities. Asialink Business CEO Leigh Howard and Group CEO Martine Letts celebrated the organisation's milestones in fortifying Asia capabilities within the Australian workforce.

Some of the themes emphasised throughout the speeches were:

1. Strengthened partnerships: The Victorian Government's collaboration with Asialink Business has been instrumental in advancing the state's presence and influence in Asian markets.

2. Economic and skills development: The event highlighted the myriad of programs and initiatives that have been crucial in driving trade and investment outcomes with Asia, reflecting on Victoria's innovative approach to international economic engagement.
